Fame, glory and bragging rights (ok, mostly just bragging rights) go to the person who correctly comes up with where I took these photos. Try to be as specific as you can. Tune in next week to read the article that goes with them. Leave your guesses in the comments section below.

It is indeed.

Sometimes bilingualism annoys the s**t out of me!
I mean, a stop sign is a recognizable symbol almost anywhere in the Western world. Do the really need to have both languages on it?
Same with words that sound nearly alike. Where I work, if I ask someone if they want chocolate or cinnamon in Dutch it’s “chocolade of kaneel” but in French it’s “chocolat ou canelle” and the words are nearly the same sounding. But ask a French person if they want kaneel instead of canelle? And they’re totally clueless.
ARRGH!

Having grown up in NB which is the only bi-lingual province in Canada, I just find bi-lingual signs normal. I do find it odd that the signs switch language in Belgium depending what area you are in, rather than having bi-lingual signs everywhere.

I got Nouveau Brunswick as well… Ummmm… I’ll go with Grand Manan, since Bay of Fundy’s taken.

Well, you are the closest
They were actually all taken at the ferry terminal waiting to go to Grand Manan.

Yeah I knew you were on the East Coast (ok, got the NB part) but it’s harder for me to recognize since I have yet to get out of BC in Canada yet! Great pics!

Since I’m here, the East Coast is an easy guess, and everybody already guessed it! Hehe.

You should make the trip over! It’s a gorgeous boat trip on a clear day.

[...] They say the journey is more important than the destination. If you enjoy boats than this is true of Grand Manan. You reach the island by one of two ferries that leave from Blacks Harbour, the location of last week’s Photo Friday. [...]
