We spent a day discovering the 4 AOP cheeses of Normandy, including the world-renowned Camembert.
As Canadians, it’s difficult to think of Normandy without thinking of WWII. In fact, visiting the D-Day beaches, particularly the Canadian Memorial at Juno Beach, was our primary reason for visiting the region. But there is much more to discover here, not the least of which being the stunning Mont-Saint-Michel.
From a foodie perspective, Normandy is home to some of France’s best cheeses (something Alison is always happy to discover.)
We feel we’ve barely scratched Normandy’s surface and are looking forward to discovering more about this rich cultural landscape on the channel coast.

For many people, Normandy, France, conjures images of Saving Private Ryan and the D-Day landings. There is much more to discover in the region, including stunning coastal landscapes, dramatic architecture and a Viking heritage. We spent two weekends in this beautiful part of France and today I will share some of our findings.
