Most travellers have no idea what they are missing when it comes to Belgium. Many pass through her borders with barely a passing glance at Brussels and Bruges. But Belgium is a complex little country. Even after living here for ten years, we feel as though we’ve barely scratched the surface of all it has to offer. Discovering Belgium is a bit like pealing back the layers of an onion – each layer reveals a new and fascinating finding below. Because of this diversity, Belgium is a slow traveller’s dream.
We came to Belgium for two short years; we never dreamed we’d be applying for Belgian Citizenship one day. No matter where we travel in the world, Belgium will be a big part of who we are. It will always be one of our ‘homes,’ and we will always be singing its praises.
In this section, you’ll find all of the information we’ve amassed over our ten years of scouring Belgium, searching for its ‘hidden gems,’ – the food, the art, the history, the culture, the attractions, the shops, the accommodations, and the people.
If you take the time to get to know Belgium, we believe you can’t help but fall in love with her as we did. We may be leaving her borders for now, but we’ll always be back.
