Home - A film by Yann Arthus-Bertrand

Last night I watched one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen – it was dramatic, and heartbreakingly tragic, even rather frightening, but it ended with hope. The movie was the story of us, humans, and what our existence on the planet has done to the Earth.

Home is a movie directed by one of the most inspiring photographers working today, Yann Arthus-Bertrand. You probably know his work from the incredible Earth from Above exhibition that has been circling the globe for years. Imagine his stunning aerial photography as film and you have the beginnings of Home.

The film’s cinematography rivals, and in my opinion surpasses, the BBC series Planet Earth. Its message is more powerful than An Inconvenient Truth. It will leave you changed – and it should.

What is even more incredible is that the film is entirely free to watch. It’s available on DVD, in theatres and on YouTube, where I watched it last night. Home will be translated into at least 14 languages and depicts 54 countries.

So before you jump into your SUV or bite into that fast-food hamburger, you may want to think about the impact that you are making on the rest of the world. Watch Home and think about what kind of home we want to continue living in.

Watch the trailer below or go to the full length film now.
