La Benjamine New Year 2008-2009

Alison and Andrew at Chez Ruffet in Jurancon, France

Whooosh… What was that blur? Oh, it was just me racing by. I’ve often commented that when it rains it pours and it seems that this spring and summer is no exception. I haven’t stopped moving since March and here it is June already. July is booked as is September and October. My only hope for a relaxing month is August and frankly, I have my doubts. My “to-do” list is longer than my arm and I am starting to make lists of lists. What’s been keeping me on the move?

  • My ACM Photography site is growing and changing. It’s taking on a life of its own which is fantastic. The photography tutorial blog has been a lot of work but I’m seeing payoffs already and I have lots of ideas for the future. I’ve been doing some (very fun) copy-editing work that has put me in touch with some great people and resources. (More on this soon) The sunshine has dragged Andrew and me out of the loft to go exploring in Brussels and beyond… which means more photos and more editing for stock.
  • We’ve also been dining out way more than normal – between friends’ houses and new restaurants; well let’s just say it’s a good thing we’re walking more!
  • CheeseWeb is about to take on a whole new look. I don’t want to go into too much just yet as we’re still in the planning stages but I’m very excited. It’s incredible what this silly little personal blog has grown into and what it has done for me personally. I hope to give more back to the community that has grown here. If you have any suggestions for what you’d like to see more (or less) of here, then please don’t hesitate to contact me by email or in the blog comments.
  • Most excitingly, I’m planning for more visitors in the fall! (More on this soon too).

Please bear with me over the next few months while things evolve here. You can really help me out by giving me any feedback you have. I’d love to know why you come here, what you like to read about and what’s missing.

Finally I’d just like to thank all of you for making CheeseWeb what it is today. I look forward to sharing many more adventures with you!

I come here because I love your photos and seeing what goes on in Brussels, and dreaming of the day that I can be out as a full blown Euro expat again… In the mean time I drop by to adore your flat and interesting stuff you’ve got to say from the other side of the pond… :)
