Expats and travelers know that the world, although vast in size, can be a very tiny place. The passion of creative people can be experienced on every corner of the globe.
Today I stumbled upon this extraordinary project. Playing for Change: Peace through Music combines the talent of street performers the world over and remixes the tracks into something magical.
Playing for Change is a multimedia movement created to inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world through music. The idea for this project arose from a common belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. No matter whether people come from different geographic, political, economic, spiritual or ideological backgrounds, music has the universal power to transcend and unite us as one human race. And with this truth firmly fixed in our minds, we set out to share it with the world.
The project evolved into a non-profit foundation which brings musicians from around the world to perform benefit concerts to build music and art schools. Their first double CD is available for purchase here.
