It was one of those weekends… There were lots of things going on, things we had every intention of doing… But sometimes you just need a weekend to sit around in your pajamas. While in theory, we wanted to get out of the house, in practice we failed. But how nice it was to lie around, read a book from start to finish, enjoy a few movies and eat my famous midnight chili.

Besides, sometimes there are perils in going to the outside world for me. God knows what would have happened if I left the house Saturday… as it was I slipped getting out of the shower only to get up, look in the mirror and discover that my new hair colour is purple. That’s right, gone is the orange hair. It was time for a change (encouraged by Shannon) and I had been thinking of going darker for a while now. Today I’d say it’s not so much purple… maybe maroon? We’ll see what happens. The orange may still make a comeback.

We weren’t totally useless this weekend. Sunday afternoon we planed the parents’ Euro Trip Part Deux. Andrew’s folks are coming to stay in October and the four weeks they will be here, have gotten jam packed with things to do. “Well, if we’re that close to Spain, we may as well go to Barcelona…” This is the trouble we have with planning trips for visitors… There are so many wonderful places to go and new things to see that we want to show our guests everything. I think my parents’ heads are still spinning from the trip we took them on. Mine is.

The great thing with the upcoming trip is that there is not a whole lot of overlap with my parents visit so Andrew and I will be on some uncharted ground again, which is good for our souls, my photography and his parents when we don’t sound like broken records… “If you look to your right, you’ll see…”

So this week I’ll be researching, booking, buying new maps (something that always fills me with joy) and jotting down places to go. It looks like we’ll be doing another straight shot to Avignon, exploring the south of France, Heading to Barcelona and then back up the west coast of France to the Normandy area. From there we’re in Paris and then back home. We’ll explore Belgium and the Netherlands as well. Any suggestions are welcome. I’m off to hit the books…
